AUTOMATIC WINDING MACHINE
The programmable automated winding machine combines quickness with accuracy. Taking only minutes to program, complete phases are wound by setting the number of coils per group per phase. Sleeving is advanced onto the jumpers between coils automatically. The wire diameter is also part of the programming so field coils are layer wound with factory size and specifications.
SURGE TESTING
Using the principle of impedance balance, the surge comparison tester is utilized to check all stator winding and wound rotors, whether freshly wound or overhauled. Standard operation is set for twice operating voltage, plus 1000 volts. Scratches in the wire insulation can be easily detected, seen as different wave patterns on the scope, as can a phase to phase short or a phase to phase imbalance. We also check the actual integrity of the slot insulation by performing high potential voltage from 0-500 micro amps.
PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD TESTING STATION
When power is applied, testing and repairing circuit boards require passive and dynamic checks on a component level. Transistor and capacitance meters, oscilliscopes, and volt/current meters allow rapid and precise testing; coolant spray and hot air are applied to simulate thermal cycling to create start-up and running conditions. Fractional and integral horsepower variable speed drives are run as a final test of the boards, assuring original performance under all speed ranges.
